I’ve had struggle with lower back pain for some time. While working standing on my feet for hours at a time I would come home with lower back pain. Since I’ve ordered the Backup brace I’ve been working those long hours standing on feet and the backup brace has significantly reduced my lower back. If you are skeptical about getting a backup brace I encourage you to get one.
I bought the backup brace for my fiancé a few weeks ago, after weeks of him coming home from work complaining of back pain from his duty belt. From the first night he wore it complaints of his pain have stopped! Incredible product that he highly recommends.
Spreads the load of your duty belt across your back. Super comfortable. Not the best picture, but im not flexible enough to turn my body around and snap a photo with me wearing it.
One of the things that some of the reviews do not mention that I like about the brace is that it prevents things from sliding into your back as well as keeping things nice and snug on the sides. Should have started using this sooner.
I always wondered why co-workers had so many positive things to say about the product. I ordered one wondering if I too would have the same good experience they did. I received my product about a week and a half ago, and it’s my new favourite thing. It provides a lot of support to my lower back/S.I. Joints and makes my duty belt feel a lot lighter. Sitting in chairs or in a cruiser for long periods of time with it isn’t such a task anymore. I would purchase another one but would love for a smaller size than currently available, as it takes up quite a bit of space on my belt, I can’t add any more equipment. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase.
I bought this as a Christmass gift for my self. In my seven years as an Officer I found my back starting to ache from the weight. I put this brace on my duty belt and in less than a week my back felt better.
I definitely recommend this the sooner the better before it's too late for your back!
Between the duty and belt and the vest, my back is overworked. Bought this brace in hopes that it would help and it absolutely has. Takes a couple weeks to be set on your duty belt, but the support was there immediately. Def recommend this for any LE personnel that needs the extra support, especially for long shifts. You just need to re-adjust your gear to weave the back brace in.
I’ve been waiting to give Backup Bace a try, and finally had to due to an injury. I should have done it sooner. The guarantee is a no brained.
After placing the Backup Brace on my belt the relief was immediate. I think the material took a bit to wear in, but after a few days the curve set nice. It feels like the duty belt and weight of it is off your lower back and more floating. I was able to adjust the gear enough to keep the same set up. Depending on the clothing, layering, and activity, the corner might feel a slight pinch, but really nothing like before using the Backup Barce. With movement it sets up perfect. Looks professional, and works nice advertised. Even better, there is no need to slide the gear into place, because the product keeps it in place. The Velcro is a perfect touch, and I haven’t had to use the supplied belt keepers.
I was experiencing lower back pain due to wearing the Sam Brown belt with all that gear. I bought the back up brace about a month ago. I have experienced a total change in the amount of pressure placed on my back and the pain has been less and less every day. Now I'm enjoying work days without any back pain. This product actually does what it says it does. Thank you.
This year Is my 14th year work patrol, between my low sitting squad car and duty belt I’ve started having lower back issues. All of my back issues are muscular and the BackUpBrace has been a true life saver for me.
I had looked at multiple options to assist with taking the weight off my lower back and some of the guys at work spoke very highly about this product. I’m so glad I took their advice and ordered one. I have been wearing the brace for almost a month and happy to say I’ve noticed a huge improvement!
If you are torn about this purchase don’t be it will be a life saver. Seriously all cops I know have bought just about everything tactical, black, and with Velcro....... so why not this brace that will actually make a difference in the long run !
As soon as I put on my Backupbrace, I noticed a difference right away! My duty belt felt much lighter and more comfortable.
The first day I wore it I was doing a foot patrol assignment where I was walking around for almost 8 hours straight. At the end of my shift that day my back had no back pain like it normally does.
On an everyday use the Backupbrace does the trick. It's comfortable sitting in the scout car for extended periods and I no longer am begging to take off my belt a few hours into my shift.
I was so happy with my belt I raved about it to my partner at work and he ended up getting one as well! He seems to be even happier than me with his. He has a slightly larger waste and taller frame and the bigger belt seems to work even better for him.
I would highly recommend this product for any law enforcement officers who wear a duty belt.

I have been having back issues off and on for the last several years. Currently I am assigned to the Traffic Division and work 4 10 hour shifts on my police motorcycle. Add in my commute time, and I am on the bike sometimes in excess of 12 hours a day. Same thing on my off days when I am doing escorts as a side job.
From day 1, I felt instant relief. The Backup Brace works as advertised. The weight of all the gear on my duty belt has been more evenly distributed. It too a little bit to get used to it and I had to adjust some of my gear on my belt, but I did not have to eliminate any that I have been accustomed to carrying.
I no longer have the back pain when I get home after a long shift. As stupid as this sounds, I have even contemplated putting my duty belt on around the house if my back starts hurting again. I would definately recommend it to any officer suffering from back pain that had to carry a lot of gear on their duty belt.
Awesome belt accessory. No more back pain! Love that you can't really tell it's on the belt. Also, very happy it comes in basketweave pattern, so it matches the rest of my gear.
After years of working patrol and wearing a duty belt I developed chronic lower back pain. I reached the point that my right leg would go numb while walking around on duty. I spent my days off laying on the couch because any movement was too painful. I then moved to a special division and was freed from the dreaded duty belt. After numorous visits to the chiropractor and massage therapist the pain was reduced to a manageable level. Years past and then came the promotion that forced me to put the duty belt back on once again. I purchased the backup support brace for my duty belt and have wore it for over a month now. I have not had any back pain since wearing the back up support brace. I highly recommend it to anyone wearing a duty belt.
