The BackUp back support product is a premium quality product designed by law enforcement officers, for law enforcement officers. It is a well known fact that police officers suffer from lower back pain as a result of:
- The extra and unbalanced weight of equipment they have to carry
- The type of physical activity required
The BackUp has your back. Here's how it works:
JOURNAL OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE RESEARCH STUDY

Great addition to my duty belt. Really helps with the weight distribution. My chronic back pain is going away more each day. Would highly recommend to other LEOs
For about the first week I was a little sore, most likely because of the change in weight distribution, but I’m about a month in now and it feels normal. Great tool for lower back issues can’t reccomend enough.
I recently purchased this approximately a month ago after having tried several other options including internal suspenders, which were extremely uncomfortable and cumbersome. After having purchased this back brace, I can attest to the fact that it does disburse my duty belt weight much better, causing less strain on my lower back and hips. I don't carry any items or accessories on the back of my belt, so I have no issue with placement. While the brace is a bit large, I don't feel that it is obtrusive like the other person had said. It does have a tendency to butt up against my vest, however, that is the only flaw, if you will, that I have found. As far as taking it in and off, it takes me a maybe a couple more seconds to apply the belt keepers, again, not a big deal. For the price, it is well worth it and I have find that my hips are not as sore after a 12 hour shift. I would recommend this to any officer who is experiencing back/hip issues, especially given the fact that the company offers a return policy if you do not like it. Overall, very happy with the product!
A few years ago I had an on duty motorcycle wreck which jacked up my lower back. When an assignment was changed, I had to spend a lot of time in a marked unit and it really aggravated my back. My wonderful wife found your product and surprised me with it. The relief was felt immediately!
I have been asked by several of my coworkers and officers from other agencies about my belt and have sung your praises! I cannot say enough about how strongly I feel about this essential piece of my duty belt!
I have been wearing the Back Up Brace for about 3 weeks now. Out of the box I was impressed with the build quality. I Have worked several football games and other events wear I've had to stand for 8 plus hours at a time. My duty belt rides much better on my frame and I don't feel the weight as much on my hips. Love it so far. Only down side I've found so far is just putting the belt keepers on in the back and threading thru the holes to grab my inner belt. It is getting easier so practice makes perfect. Would and should have bought sooner. Thanks, Police Officer H Lane Knoxville TN
13 years of wearing an equipment belt was taking its toll. Even after shifting a lot of my gear to my vest, my lower back would still ache. My osteo could only do so much so I started looking around for a solution. A colleague has one of these braces and highly recommended it so I thought, why not? Happy to report an immediate improvement and a lot less lower back aches. This brace in conjunction with an osteo appointment here and there has made a crazy amount of difference.
Nothing more important than your health. Duty belts are horrible for your body. This brace distributes the weight differently mitigating the pinch on your spine. It's a game changer. I'll probably buy another one for a spare. I spent a lot of money on other solutions. This is the only one I would recommend.
I have been a motor officer for about 20 years and have experienced back pain from riding all day. This brace blends in well with my duty belt and offers exceptional comfort! I have had a few other deputies ask about the product and I promptly referred them to this site! Give this brace a try!
After I purchase one, 4 other fellow Officers also bought one. Words can not describe the comfort and relief of back/hip stress. This should be a Dept/Agency equipment issue...good job!
For years I have worn duty belts as a reservist in the military. I knew that there was one thing I could always count on after hours of running Search and Rescue cases: Lower back pain!
I accepted this as a necessary evil and tolerated it due to experiencing it only two days out of the month. However, when I was sworn as an officer at a local PD, I sought a remedy for my lower back pain as it would now be a much more frequent affair. I eventually found this product and was hesitant to buy it due to the seemingly cumbersome design and somewhat high price point. I will tell you now that it was worth every penny.
I attached the Backup Brace and no longer experience back pain despite carrying more equipment on my belt and wearing it for much longer hours. The Backup Brace does a great job of distributing the weight of the duty belt along a wider area, and not just pressing inwards on my lower back.
I have since recommended this product to my fellow officers and all have had positive experiences-- most notably, the veteran officers who have dealt with back pain for years.
All in all, I highly recommend the Backup Brace to anyone who wears a duty belt and is looking for a solution to lower-back pain and discomfort.
After wearing my backup brace for a week, I noticed the relief of the weight from my duty belt. Still having back pain, but it's a lot less now. It really does work.
I've been wearing a duty belt for 11 years in a correctional setting. Lots of time on my feet as well as in a seated position. Needless to say, time takes its toll on everyone; and my duty belt was taking it's toll on my back!
I've been wearing the Backup Brace for close to a month now and I immediately feel a difference in comfort for my back. No more soreness/ pain that I felt before the B.U.B.
If you're skeptical, take it from an 11 year veteran who's on his feet all day: This is legit.
I have been a state trooper for roughly three years and started getting back pain soon after the academy. The Backup Brace has significantly reduced my pain during my shifts as well as when I am done working. I am routinely asked what "that thing" on my back is and if it helps. It does! I recommend it to my friends so I have no problem recommending it to anyone out there reading this! For only $70 try it out. Last thing, I come from a department which is big on uniformity, the patent leather blended in well with the rest of my belt. Thanks and hope this helps others looking!
This product is great, wish I had this 2 years ago, have arthritis I my lower back and this is helping tremendously!!!!
I find the backup brace to be as good as advertised. I have found in the week that I wore it on duty, it helped me tremendously. I had no back discomfort or pain. Highly recommended.
Deputy for over 9 years, started having lower back pain last year. Chiropractor said it was from duty belt. Was gonna buy suspenders but not allowed over the shirt by policy and didn't want to spend $300 on the under uniform suspenders. Saw the ad and figured the price was worth the shot. After a week of use I noticed a lessening of the back pain on duty and after shift. At almost 3 weeks it's pretty much gone. Worth the investment
My back was killing me before I got this. No back pain anymore!
My husband says it definitely helps with his back. He has only worn it for one week but says so far it's helped!
I wish I had this brace 20 years ago. Every officer with back issues should try one. I knew I would not be returning it after the first shift.
3 weeks in and I m very pleased with the results of wearing Back Up Brace! It has made a difference in my lower back pain.
I am having a sciatica issue from my new vest but it's from before I bought the brace. I've been wearing the brace for almost two weeks and I could feel a difference As soon as I put it on. Feels like there's no weight sitting on my rear anymore. Now when this sciatica issue goes away, I should feel 100%!!!
This Back Up Brace is the bomb, I have problems with my L-5, S1 vertebra and this Back Up Brace helps with the weight of my duty belt to relieve the pressure on my lower back, Ive had it for only two weeks now and this is the longest Ive been able to wear my duty belt full time. Im still able to keep all my gear in its place. I have told my other co-workers about it and showed them how it works. My boss said he would check to see if the company would order one for everyone and I could use this one for my personal use. Will write back after 30 day trial
First week in wearing the backup brace, all my back pain is gone even after a 12 hr shift. This product really helps distribute the weight and now I can carry more gear without pain. Just be sure to wear your belt tight enough so it can do its job.!!!!
The BackUp was designed to seamlessly convert the standard police duty belt into a supportive weight lifting belt, without:
- inhibiting the functionality of the belt itself
- adding any noticeable weight
- affecting the image of the uniform (as is the case with suspenders and weight bearing vests)
These quality products come with a 90 day money back guarantee, and will offer years of support.
